I have babies at inconvenient times. Jack was born on a Thursday and football camp and my moms school started on Monday. My parents were able to stay until Sunday and were able to entertain Addi and Will had to go to work just a little bit during the weekend but once Monday hit I saw him very little. Will’s mom stayed until Tuesday which was nice. My recovery with Jack was much better then with Addi. I was up and walking around and doing stuff around the house. I over did it a few times and had to listen to my mom when she said to get back to bed. Once it was just Jack, Addi and I we got into a pretty good groove after a few days. I would have to say that Addison was awesome. She generally entertained herself all day. She would even feed herself if I forgot (which I might have once or twice). I was nursing and pumping (things that I am not very talented at but was trying really hard) so I was pretty much stuck to the bed all day. Addi colored, played toys, danced and played outside. When that would not work we would turn on a show. I she was more demanding I don’t think I could have survived. Jack was a pretty good baby. He was a little irritating due to the fact that he thought he had to be patted on the stomach while he slept and had to be perfectly swaddled (thankfully that need went away soon). I quickly became very grateful for the basinet my parents got us because I could lay in bed and half pat him while dozing off. Addi liked to hold Jack but would get bored after awhile. She keeps asking when he will play. I think they will have fun together when he gets older.
The first week was exhausting with Will being gone so much but we survived and Addi was an excellent help! She became an excellent delivery girl. If I needed a diaper, new clothes, wipes, burp cloth anything, she was there.
