Family Planning

Life/family planning is an oxymoron.  You can plan all you want and life will do what it was going to do anyways. For example one year ago we planned on getting pregnant. I had maternity insurance.  Well nothing ever happened.  I got a new job and had to get their insurance which had no maternity coverage.  We contemplated getting separate insurance just for maternity but figured since nothing had happened in a year nothing would.  We also decided that this would be a good time to look for a house. We started looking and lost my maternity coverage.  In October I found out I had a giant ovarian cyst.  If it did not go away on its own I would have to be put on birth control (which I did not want to do) or I would have to have it surgically removed.  Four weeks later I went to have it checked and it was magically gone but I was still having the pain. In the middle of all this we found a house that we wanted to get.  We put in the offer and hoped they would accept it.  Friday morning I took a pregnancy test expecting the normal result (I seriously take at least one a month). But instead of negative this time it was positive   Remember that this was about six    in the morning and I was still very sleepy and slightly in shock.  Instead of being super cute and telling Will in a special way and I just said "hey, wake up, I'm pregnant".  He was slightly in shock too so we headed off to work. Later that day we found out that the sellers had accepted our offer.  I was just slightly overwhelmed with everything that day. Apparently getting pregnant is the sure fire way to get rid of ovarian cysts!
After four very overwhelming weeks, me feeling sick all the time and always tired we finally started to get excited about everything   Excited about a new baby, new house and the direction our family is headed.  Come to find out non insurance babies aren't as expensive as we thought if you do it smartly. We can handle this we have decided.
The first OB appointment we could not even see the baby, which was slightly concerning. Just last week we had another one and there was the baby doing just fine.  Apparently I was off on my dates and I was not as far along as we had originally thought. It was nice to have that confirmation that everything was ok and that the baby looks good.
Addi took a while to finally understand what was going on. I should her this ultrasound and she looks at it, then looks at me and says "rawr, monster".  She was convinced for a few days that there was a monster and not a baby inside my tummy.  She now is excited and likes to show people the pictures of the baby in mommas tummy.  However she does think that her and Will also have babies in their tummies.........

Money, Money, Money

Addi has discovered the power of money.  She loves it.  She will do anything if you give her a penny and loves to put it in her piggy bank.  She got into some of my cash and went crazy

Addi’s Birthday

Addi turned two a very long time ago.  July 31 to be exact.  I am a slacker momma.  Its ok though, I am sure she forgives me.  My excellent friend took some pictures so we can always remember the adorable little girl.

I have one of the pictures of her eating the cake in her room and for awhile every time she saw it she would say “Hi Addi, eat cake”.  She thought she was pretty cool.

Her birthday was pretty low key.  Loren was still living with us so she was there but that was about the extent of our guest list.  I love how she acts when she opens presents.  Like that was the exact thing she has been wanting her whole life.

Will and I gave her an easel.  She was quite amazed with dry erase markers but sadly she would not put the lids back on so they all dried up very quickly.  I banned them for quite awhile until she figured it all out and now she is back on good list for expo markers.

She also picked out a Lighting McQueen night light.  She passed right over all the cute princess ones and went straight for the car.  Sadly it lasted only a few weeks so now instead of lighting up it just sits on her dresser.  I think she tried to “drive” it one too many times and put a short it in or something.

Things we love about you:

1. That you call me Momma.  I love love love it.

2. The fact that you are still bald.  I have yet to deal with doing hair and that is definitely a good thing

3. You love to dance and have some very interesting dance moves (you have watched your dad too much)

4. Along with number three, you love to listen to the not happy little toddler music.  Example: Skrillex.  Your favorite.  Dad always puts it on in the car and you rock out, head banging and all.

5. You can go and go and go with all of your crazy energy

6. When you want to you can be such a big helper.  Laundry would have to be your favorite activity.  When the washer beeps you yell “wash done” and go and switch it over for me.

7. Your curiosity.  It is cute to watch you figure things out on your own.

8. The tongue.  You get this from your dad.  Whenever you do something that requires any amount of brain power and concentration your tongue is sticking out of your mouth.

9. Your talking skills.  You can talk and talk and talk.  I like that when I ask you questions you can answer them back.  We have some pretty sweet conversations.

10. That you still love to read books.  My favorite time of the day is rocking you in your chair and reading books together.

Mom and Dad love you baby girl.

Happy Birthday!
