Mmmmmm

After my third, yes third, serving of ice cream today I realized that the carton was almost empty.  I bought the carton of delicious Sugar Free Southern Butter Pecan (the sugar free part helps me justify eating it) on Saturday.  Will is gone so I cant blame it on him.  How can you not love it when it looks so good?

I can admit it:

I am addicted to ice cream.

Football Season: The Greatest of the Four Seasons!

Football season has started again here at Dixie. I have always loved football, but I especially enjoy it this season because Will is coaching the offensive line.  Although he likes coaching he is still sad he can not play (me, not so much, I did not enjoy the broken bones and concussions.)  So in the excitement of the season here is my favorite picture of Will's football career.
(Will is the one pushing #53 down)

The Poor College Student

The breakdown of the last two years of my education:
  • Tuition to Dixie State College: $13,950
  • Lab Fees for DSC Dental Hygiene Program: $12,000.00
  • Board Review Class: $350.00
  • WREB Clinical and Written Exam: $900.00
  • WREB Anesthesia Clinical and Written Exam: $300.00
  • National Written Dental Hygiene Exam: $300.00
  • ADHA Dues: $100.00

Graduating with a license to practice dental hygiene: EXPENSIVE
(Maybe eventually I will think of it all as priceless, but for now I am finding that very hard)

Memories

Our minds are a funny thing.  One simple song or image can bring back dozens of detailed memories.  Smells, feelings, emotions and the images of that time and place are brought back instantly.  I was flipping through the channels and came across The Sound of Music.  I was often at my Grandma Randall's house to be babysat.  She was never a fan of kids idly watching movies but The Sound of Music was one that she never objected.  We would put the movie on in the kitchen, while it was playing she would be baking, canning or doing something productive. I would sit on the counter singing the songs and "helping" her cook.  I loved stirring, cracking eggs and being the official taste tester.  What I would give to be a little kid on a sitting on that counter again.  Sadly as much as I wish, that is not possible, so instead I will settle for singing "My Favorite Things" and craving home made bread and ginger cookies all night long.

Complaining

I just got done complaining about multiple things.  Then I realized I sounded like a brat and instead of complaining about how crazy my life is I should do what my Momma says and just be grateful; so here goes:
1.  Diet Dr. Pepper: I think it is the one thing that will keep me awake this semester.
2.  Dark Chocolate: amazing
3. Email: if email did not exist I would have to make announcements everyday that not everyone would not listen to
4. Vacations: even though a game tomorrow night in Cedar is not a spectacular vacation it is the one thing that I have been looking forward to this week
5. Veronica Fely: I would go crazy without her (she is the one I get the dark chocolate from)
I think 5 things I am grateful for covers the 5 minutes of complaining!
