Snow Canyon

I have lived here for six years and have not explored this area like I should have.  Same deal when I lived in Monticello.  Lived there for 18 years and did not do as much in the out doors as I should have.  People travel from all over the world to come to this country and I can’t get out my dang front door.  Enough with my rant.

We finally got out the front door and went on a small hike in Snow Canyon.  Very small but hey, we did it.  We had an excellent time and I hope to do some more hiking this summer.

Wills fear of heights came out in full force.  He freaked out when I would climb rocks and was highly annoyed when I would.

We went on a hike called the Three Ponds.  The last mile of it consisted in walking in a dry creek bed full of sand.  I despise walking in sand.  We decided we had gone down the the sand bed far enough and three little puddles of water was not worth carrying on (I would have made the most pathetic pioneer) so we had lunch.  Addi discovered how fun sand was and we wrote on rocks.

Instead of going back through the sand with Addi on his back Will decided to head back on the road while me and Loren went the other way back.  Some how we got slightly lost and just had to climb up a giant rock to find our way back (the story we had to tell Will!).  The rock was pretty sweet.  I looked like it had been burned and had tons of little pebble type things on it.  We also saw some sweet views.

I can understand why Will does not like me climbing high surfaces.  I am a klutz.  I probably trip and fall more times then Addison does.  I was trying to go down this rock and was on a teeny tiny ledge on a steep rock and needed to go down.  Instead of gracefully descending like Loren did I straight up fell.  We were climbing barefoot (dumb, I know) because we had really pathetic shoes with no grip.  My little toe lost its top in the crash.  There was blood but it was quite hilarious.

We had an excellent time and Addi was fast asleep in her carry by the time we were done.  Will says that carrying her around for the hour and a half is just like being pregnant for 10 months.  I disagree.  She enjoyed hitting him the head, stealing his sunglasses and kicking his back!  When we were getting ready in the morning she also decided that hanging onto the bar was an excellent way to travel.
