I found a recipe for tomato soup and decided to give it a try. After boiling it for a while I had to puree the mixture in the blender. I poured it in, placed the lid on and turned it on. For some reason the lid exploded off spraying boiling hot tomato soup all over my face, arms, legs and the entire kitchen. Once I cleaned it all up we got around to eating the soup. It was actually very good, a little chunky since no pureeing happened but still very good.

I did the exact same thing with boiling soup no less. That was the worst! Glad I'm not the only one that didn't even consider the lid expolding off a possiblity :0
Jen, my aunt just told me that when you do this you should take out the middle part of the lid and cover it with a towel.
