Addi was so excited for Halloween. She has always had a strange obsession with pumpkins so she looks forward to Halloween with lots of excitement. This year we went to a pumpkin patch in Hurricane and we loved it! Addi was not into posing for picture that night for some reason but she loved being there. A Headless Horseman rode around the farm all night. Addi was interested in him but when he got too close she would get scared. They had horse rides that Addi really liked. One horse had a pink blanket which, of course, made it a thousand times better. The pumpkin patch was a big hit and she picked her own pumpkin. She liked feeding the goats and still talks about doing that. They had the Headless Horsemen movie playing so we could drink hot chocolate and watch for a bit. The highlight for Addi was the little train ride. She loved it. I think she went five times. Jack spent the night riding in the stroller and chewing on his thumb. I loved going to this little farm and we had so much fun. Hopefully it is a yearly tradition.
Pumpkin carving was fun for Addi, not so much for Jack. We have a picture at Halloween when Addi was that age with her screaming in the Bumbo too. Our children do not like pumpkin carving at that age. We also made milk carton ghosts. Addi was obsessed with these. They always had to be plugged in and I think they stayed in the house until Christmas decorations came up. When I finally threw them away she was very sad and rescued the from the trash a few times.
For Halloween Addi was a scary kitty cat. I have no clue where she came up with this idea but she was set on it. I got her some fake nails and painted them black for her claws and she loved them. It completely handicapped her but she was obsessed. She had a Halloween party at dance and then got to wear her costume to day care all day. It took a lot of convincing that she could not wear her nails to school. I am fairly certain her teachers would have wanted to kill me by the end of the day! Halloween night our ward did a chili dinner and trunk or treat. It was a really fun night and fun to see all the kids in the ward. All of the excitement had Jack passed out as soon as we got home. Addi loves this silly holiday; can’t wait to see what she wants to be next year.
