There is about 1 thousand Halloween activities to do here in St. George. The Saturday before Halloween there was a big event in the park put on by the school district. They had lots of fun games for the kids (Addi was too small to do most of them) but it was still fun. The had the carousel running to so of course Addi wanted to do that a few times.
After that we went to Will’s game and of course Addi needed to wear her wings the entire game.
We sat near the score board during most of the game and the little bug twirled her blanket around and around. The people next to us where getting a kick out of her.
Monday we went to the community center trunk or treat. This was her first real experience getting candy. She loved it. She would say “trick r treat” really quietly and then get her candy and jumped around so exited to put it in her bag. She usually remembered to say thank you before she skipped off to the next place. I kept trying to get a picture of her but instead of standing and looking at me she thought it was excellent to pose while looking through her wing.
On Monday Addi’s dance class had a Halloween party where they dressed up and then gave each other treats. It was so cute to see all the little girls in their costumes. That night we also went to Will’s grandmas house to trick or treat her house and her neighbors that we know.
Tuesday night we headed to the athletic department trunk or treat at the stadium. Addi had a wonderful time in the beginning.
At the end we were hanging out by the football department and a certain ape decided to visit Addi. She freaked out and refused to touch or look at him. The poor girl was terrorized by this ape for the rest of the night. He would pop up behind Will or grab her feet. I think she is going to be like e and be terrified of things in masks.
During the week we also decorated Halloween cookies and carved pumpkins.
While we were carving pumpkins we found that Addi had snuck into the kitchen and stole the frosting beater!
This was her cookie that she spent so much time working on. She was so proud!
Will’s niece came and carved pumpkins with us.
This was the finished product
Will’s is the top left, Cassidy’s the top right and mine are the ones on the bottom.
By the time actual Halloween came I was personally all Halloweened out and was not feeling well. We decided to bad trick or treating and just hand out candy. Addi thought this was so much fun. Whenever the door bell rang she would grab the and bowl and yell “trick or treat.” She would tell people they were cute and yell “bye, see you soon!”
I used to hate Halloween but with kids it makes it much more fun. I probably will never get super into it and hand make detailed costumes for each member of the family but…… this works for us!
